Good Neighbourhood Pty Ltd (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the RideRunner mobile application (the “Service”).

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

1. INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

1.1 Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Date of birth (for age verification)
  • Location data (GPS coordinates for ride tracking)
  • Device information, including device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
  • Usage data
  • Emergency contact information
  • Identity verification documents (if using optional KYC features via Didit)

1.2 Usage Data

We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as:

  • Ride statistics, including speed, distance, route, lean angle, and performance metrics
  • Crash detection and sensor data
  • App feature interaction data
  • Team, friend, and group ride participation data
  • KmPoints balance and redemption history

2. USE OF DATA

RideRunner uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including ride tracking, leaderboards, and social features
  • To provide crash detection and emergency SOS features
  • To enable Team, Friends, and Group Ride coordination features
  • To track riding statistics and performance
  • To operate the KmPoints rewards system
  • To manage Premium Subscription billing and entitlements
  • To provide customer care and support
  • To analyze usage and improve the Service
  • To conduct identity verification (KYC) where you have opted in
  • To send push notifications related to ride activity, safety alerts, and service updates

3. LOCATION DATA

The App collects GPS location data for the purposes of providing core features, including tracking your route, ride statistics, and proximity to other users (Nearby Rider Map).

Background Location: The App may collect location data in the background when the App is not in the foreground. This is required for crash detection and ride tracking to function properly. You grant consent for continuous or intermittent background location services required for optimal function.

Consent: We commit to informing you when background tracking begins, when it stops, and what specific data is being shared. Data sharing with friends (nearby riders) is opt-in by the user in question.

Limited Scope: Location data is used strictly for ride logging, leaderboards, group coordination, and immediate safety notifications. We do not sell raw location data.

4. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

4.1 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your Personal Data in good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend our rights or property
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
  • Protect the personal safety of users or the public
  • Protect against legal liability

4.2 Emergency Services

Location and personal data may be shared with emergency services when SOS features are activated. This is limited to the minimum information required to facilitate an emergency response.

4.3 Social Features

Information you choose to share via Teams, Friends, and Group Rides (including your chosen display name, team affiliation, ride statistics, and approximate location) will be visible to other users as configured in your privacy settings. You control what is shared and with whom.

4.4 Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties include:

  • Identity Verification (Didit): For optional KYC services. Data shared is governed by Didit’s privacy policy and our commitment to secure data storage.
  • Mapping Services (Google Maps): For map tiles, geocoding, and route visualization.
  • Payment Processors (Apple/Google): Subscription and in-app purchase processing is handled by Apple and Google in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
  • Push Notification Services: For delivering notifications to your device.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

5. DATA SECURITY

We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your Personal Data.

6. DATA RETENTION

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Ride logs, statistics, and performance data will be retained for the duration of your account and deleted upon account closure (within 30 days of a verified deletion request), subject to mandatory legal retention requirements.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability — export your ride data and personal information at any time via the settings menu
  • Withdraw consent for location tracking or data sharing at any time (note this may impact app functionality)
  • Close your account — upon verification, we will permanently delete your associated user data (including ride logs, team history, and uploaded UGC) within 30 days

8. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our website and hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. We use the following types of cookies:

  • Preference Cookies: To remember your preferences and settings
  • Analytics Cookies: To understand how visitors interact with our website (anonymous, aggregated data)

RideRunner utilizes third-party services including Google Maps, Apple/Google Payment Systems, and identity verification providers (Didit). 10. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our Service is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and, for material changes, via in-app notification or email at least 30 days prior to the change taking effect.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
